This past March I was featured in an interview on a popular points and miles blog called Million Mile Secrets. Emily from Million Mile Secrets asked me a variety of questions related to my points and miles experiences and my site – AcCounting Your Points.

A couple weeks later the interview was posted on Million Mile Secrets – titled “Every Mile Counts, No Matter How Insignificant the Promotion May Seem!”

The image is a screenshot of a blog post from the website "Million Mile Secrets," which focuses on travel and saving money. The blog post is titled "Every Mile Counts, No Matter How Insignificant the Promotion May Seem!!" and was posted on March 14, 2016. The post includes a disclosure about affiliate links and mentions that American Express, Barclaycard, Chase, and US Bank are advertising partners. The content introduces an interview series about "Big Travel with Small Money" and features an interview with Derek from "AcCounting Your Points," a blog that helps readers travel more while spending less. Derek is a Certified Public Accountant. The post includes links to Derek's Instagram and Twitter. There is also an image of a person sitting in a hammock tied between two large trees in a forest. The website has various advertisements, including offers for credit cards and bonus points. Social media icons for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and RSS are also visible.

What I find interesting about this title is the fact that I did not actually provide it as a title, but rather the Million Mile Secrets team quoted one of my interview responses directly!

Here is the excerpt from the MMS interview:

What do you now know about collecting miles and points which you wish you knew when you started out?

When I started out a few years ago, there were times when I ignored what I considered to be too few points or miles to worry about (1,000 points or less).

Whether it be related to rental cars or signing-up for the Wall Street Journal, I assumed that since the amount was so little, the points didn’t matter.

I now know that every mile counts, no matter how insignificant the promotion may seem!

There have been so many times that I have had a redemption in mind, but am just 500 to 1,000 points short of what I need.

In the spirit of sticking to my own advice, I wanted to highlight a few potential point/mile bonuses that some may deem insignificant (but not you, cause you are much smarter than those people)…

Current Shopping Portal Back to School Promotions – I have highlighted Shopping Portals in the past and encourage everyone to always take this extra step prior to making ANY purchases online, as it can earn you THOUSANDS of extra bonus miles on purchases you were going to make anyway!
