Step-by-Step Booking Singapore Suites!

The image shows an Airbus A380 aircraft parked at an airport gate, connected to a jet bridge. The aircraft is branded with the logo and livery of Singapore Airlines. The photo is taken from inside the terminal, through a window, with reflections of the interior lights visible on the glass. The airport tarmac and some ground service equipment are also visible near the aircraft.

Tuesday I provided a full review of my experience flying Singapore Airlines Suites Class and mentioned how achievable it was with points and miles! To show just how easy it is, I have put together a step-by-step guide for you on how to book this fantastic award flight! Just follow the steps below and you too can soar through the sky sipping champagne in a Singapore Airlines Suite!

And away we go…

Step 1 – Register for a Free Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Account:

Joing KrisFlyer

Step 2 – Search for “Redeem Flights” Suites Availability:

Redeem Flights
Note the “Redeem Flights” selection and the “First/Suites” class

Note: Singapore Airlines uses their Airbus A380s fit with Suites Class on limited routes, so make sure that you are searching the correct routes if Suites Class is your end goal!

Here are the routes that fly Airbus A380’s equipped with Suites Class:

Singapore Suites Class Routes
The two Singapore Suites US routes are JFK – Frankfurt, as well as LA – Tokyo. Any other Singapore Airlines flights will feature First Class, rather than Suites Class!

Since the Suites Class has limited seats (12) per flight, award availability can be tough to find, but keep searching and availability at the Saver Level will appear! Make sure to select “2 passengers” if you are searching for availability for you and a companion.

Step 3 – Transfer points to Singapore Air KrisFlyer Program:

Remember, Singapore Airlines is a transfer partner of all the major rewards programs (Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, Citi Thank you Rewards and SPG Starpoints). For this example, let’s assume that you have done the hard part and picked up a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

The CSP will set you free…

With that card, you could have potentially earned the initial sign-up bonus of 50k points, an additional 5K points for adding of an authorized user, and at least 4k points upon meeting the minimum spend of $4,000. That leaves you with just over the 58,000 points that you will need to transfer to your new Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Account to redeem for a Suites Class JFK – FRA flight!

Log onto Chase Ultimate Rewards and Select “Transfer to Travel Partners”:

Transfer to travel partners

Select “Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer” and input details:

Enter a ff program

Input the Amount to Transfer (58,000 for the One-Way JFK-FRA since you can only transfer in 1,000-point increments) & Click Continue:

Input 58000
Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards in increments of 1,000

Confirm & Submit:

Confirm and Submit
Once you transfer there is no going back!

Note: Transfers of Chase Ultimate Rewards are FINAL, so do not transfer until you are ready to book.

The points should appear in your Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Account within the same day (typically within hours, in my experience).

Step 4 – Head back to the Singapore Airlines website, confirm the points have transferred to your KrisFlyer account (from Chase Ultimate Rewards), search the same itinerary you found in Step 2 above, and then BAM! – You can book your award!

Book your SIN Award
57,375 KrisFlyer miles & $203 in taxes!

While other flexible award programs (like American Express Membership Rewards and Citi Thank you Rewards) will have slightly different steps, the overall processes are generally the same (i.e. link your Krisflyer account and transfer).

Caution: Since some time will elapse between when you find the Suites award availability and when you transfer the points and book the flight, make sure to have a back-up plan just in case your award flight is no longer available (i.e. find multiple dates that will fit your schedule). Remember that the Chase Ultimate Reward transfers are non-cancellable and non-refundable, so once the points leave Chase Ultimate Rewards they cannot be transferred back in.

Final Thought

Flying Singapore Suites is simply splendid… and also very attainable and cheap from a points and miles perspective! Follow the steps above and you’ll be cruising through the sky in a Singapore Suite enjoying all that it has to offer!

Happy Suites Class Travels!
