Just Pictures: The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto
![The image shows a modern, multi-story building with large windows and a flat roof. The structure appears to be made of concrete and glass, with some metal elements. There are several leafless trees in front of the building, suggesting it might be winter or early spring. The entrance to the building is visible, and there is a logo and text on the wall to the left of the entrance, indicating it might be a hotel or a similar establishment. The surrounding area is landscaped with some low shrubs and a paved driveway.](https://accountingyourpoints.boardingarea.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/IMG_2998.jpg)
I sat down the other day, ready to write out a few standard points blogger hotel review posts that have been hanging around on my to-do list since a March trip to Japan. I really dread writing these type of review posts. They are incredibly time consuming, and just not fun to write! Come to think of it, not only are they not fun for me to write, but I don’t think they are that fun to read either!?
I attempted a different take on the standard hotel review and instead offered details in the form of “Highs and Lows” – like this on here of the Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills! Well that was fun for awhile, but still too time consuming and boring to sift through…
Just Pictures?
In another effort to further cut down on the time consuming task that is a hotel review, I have another idea…
What is the best part about a hotel review? Pictures! Pictures are worth a million words, or something like that right?
Well without further ado… I’ll kick off my latest all picture hotel review format with quite the spectacular property!
The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto – In (mostly) Pictures
First, a quick who, when, and how!
Who: My wife and I. We visited Japan with a couple friends but they opted for the Hyatt Regency down the street!
When: Late March 2017, just at the beginning of Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Season, for just two nights!
How: 2 nights of points! Specifically, 140K Marriott Rewards earned via Marriott Rewards Credit Card (initial sign-up bonus of 80k, plus 7.5k for adding an authorized user). The remaining 50k points or so came via SPG points transfer at a 1:3 ratio into Marriott Rewards!
Now… without further ado… Some pictures!

Final Thought
This hotel is truly a sight to see! The pictures within this post should give you a sense of that!
